These Alloy Steel P1 Seamless Pipes is especially useful in offshore oil and gas applications and in wells by means of either naturally high brine levels or where brine has been injected to enhance recovery. Our Alloy Steel P1 Welded Pipes is not recommended for applications which require long exposures to temperatures in excess of 570 Degree F because of the increased risk of a reduction in toughness. In dilute sulphuric acid contaminated with chloride ions, these Alloy Steel P1 EFW Pipes has better corrosion resistance than other alloys, which is a highly alloyed austenitic steel grade specially designed to resist pure sulphuric acid. However, our Alloy Steel P1 ERW Pipes can be used in dilute hydrochloric acid, which further has excellent localized pitting resistance. Pitting need not be a risk in the zone below the borderline of these Alloy Steel P1 Round Pipes, but crevices must be avoided. Through additions of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen in our Alloy Steel P1 Square Pipes, localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice attack are improved. Solution annealing of these Alloy Steel P1 Rectangular Pipes should be performed at the temperature range from 1025 Degree C to 1125 Degree C followed by being quenched in water or rapidly cooled by other means.

Grade AISI 4130 is a low alloy steel that contains elements such as chromium and molybdenum added to its allot as strengthening agents. Alloy pipes are tubular with higher percentages, than standard carbon steel pipes, of alloying elements as Molybdenum (Mo), Chromium (Cr), Nickel, etc. Actually, the ASTM A335 covers “low-alloy” steel pipes, i.e. pipes that have a total amount of alloying elements below 5%. The addition of higher percentages of alloying elements (example Nickel and Chromium) transforms the steel into higher alloys, like stainless steel, duplex, up to super-alloyed materials like Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, etc.
Alloy steel pipes are used in the energy industry for high temperature and very low-temperature service (cryogenic), or for applications with very high pressures.
